Tobias Bonifert

Tobias Bonifert holds a PhD in Molecular Genetics from the University of Tübingen and brings more than a decade of scientific and industry experience in gene therapy, viral vectors,and RNA-based therapeutics.

 Prior to joining NewBiologix, he served as Head of Synthetic Virology and Cell Engineering at Cytiva, where he led R&D programs focused on AAV biology, cell line development, and next-generation vector manufacturing technologies.

Tobias has extensive expertise in technology scouting, innovation management, intellectual property strategy, and scientific decision-making. Throughout his career, he has successfully translated emerging technologies into scalable development platforms while building strong collaborations across academia and industry.

At NewBiologix, he leads Science & IP Strategy, helping to shape the company’s innovation roadmap and intellectual property portfolio.
